Every Dr. B garment is cut from FlexShift™, the fabric we spent two years testing on real shifts before naming. Here is exactly what it is and why it matters at hour twelve.
The blend
74% polyester / 20% rayon / 6% spandex, 170 gsm. Polyester carries the durability and holds the dye. Rayon gives it the soft, cool hand-feel that makes it wearable in an Egyptian summer. Spandex is the stretch — woven in all four directions, not just across.
4-way stretch, real recovery
Stretch is easy; recovery is the hard part. Cheap stretch fabric bags out at the knees and seat by mid-shift. FlexShift™ is knitted to snap back to shape, so your scrubs look as sharp at handover as they did at sign-in.
Antimicrobial finish
A silver-ion treatment applied at the fiber level inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria on the garment. It is not a substitute for infection control — it is a comfort technology that keeps your uniform fresher through a double shift, and it survives repeated washing.
Fade-resistant color
Our dyes are locked in at high temperature so hospital-grade laundering does not wash the life out of them. We test every color through 50 industrial wash cycles before it earns a place in the collection.
Moisture-wicking, breathable
The knit structure moves sweat away from your skin to the fabric face where it evaporates. Under a lab coat, in July, on the fifth floor with a broken lift — this is the difference you feel.
Pockets, engineered
Between seven and eleven pockets per set depending on style: angled hip pockets your hands actually enter, a double pen slot that keeps ink off the fabric, a zip pocket for cards and cash, a phone pocket cut so the screen does not dive out when you bend over a bed.
Care
- Machine wash cold, like colors together
- Tumble dry low, or hang dry to double fabric life
- No bleach; no fabric softener — it coats the wicking fibers
- Cool iron if needed; wrinkles usually hang out on their own
